Have you ever looked at a door and thought, “Wow, I’d love to date that?” Well now you can, in Love Next Door! Swipe on a door you want to date and sweet talk your way into their hearts! Don't worry about how unhinged they may be... This project was created in 2 days for MEGA's April Fools Game Jam 2022
Love Next Door is a Game Jam project created in a group of six with the theme of "unhinged." Immediately, after going for the obvious joke of ”doors but they're insane," the group thought of silly characteristics and outlandish personalities that would shock the player. This ended up being one my most popular projects as it won the 'Best Overall' award and was also exhibited at USC Expo, where many fell in love with our adorable characters.
My Contributions
Developed the main narrative and gimmick of each story, creating a comedic tale with tonal whiplash
Coordinated tasks throughout weekend, scheduling small sprints that were to be completed before end of jam
Managed art and audio assets so they could be implemented while those features were developed
Programming tasks included creating a dialogue system, level selection, and animating character expressions
Presented to the rest of the jammers so that it could be voted 'The Fool's Choice' award!
